8/9/2013 Over 50 luxury apartment developments are currently proposed around the Boston area. 45 Stuart Street has been approved and this $125 million project will feature 404 units. The Ink Block, located at the old Boston Herald headquarters is set to become 475 1-3 bedroom apartments. 345 Harrison Ave, directly across from the Ink Block, is proposed to become a mix of apartments & retail space. 275 Albany Street in the South End is proposed to have 19 floors and 220 residential units. 1115 Washington Street is also proposed apartments. Jackson Square will be a 14 building redevelopment and include 103 rental units. Fenway Center, at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Brookline Avenue will comprise of approximately 316 units. 6-26 New Street in East Boston will comprise of approximately 163 apartments. The Kensington, a 27 story tower located on the corner of Lagrange and Washington Streets, is currently under construction and is almost complete. 319A Street, located in the Fort Point Channel, has got the approval for 20 stories & 202 units. 1282 Boylston Street has been approved for 210 apartments as well as office and retail space. 120 Kingston Street will feature 240 apartments and condos. Waterside Place, located at Congress & D Street will feature 236 apartments. Denormandie Wharf, the former location of Hodge Boiler Works, is set to feature 95 units. 49 Melcher Street will feature 23 lofts in a renovated brick and beam building in Fort Point. 381 Congress Street, in Boston's Innovation District, will turn a 5 story warehouse into 44 apartments as well as retail space. 411 D Street, also in the Innovation District, will feature 197 units including 26 "innovation units". 267 Medford Street in Charlestown has been proposed around 124 loft style apartments. The Arlington, located at 100 Arlington Street, is a 128 unit proposed building by the same developers as The Clarendon. 2 H Street is a 127 unit proposed development. The Edge, located at 60-66 Brainerd Street, is a 79 unit 4 story building in Allston's "Green District". Portside at Pier One is a waterfront development in East Boston with 176 apartments. 11 West Broadway proposes 50 units in South Boston. The Nashua Street Residences, by the TD Garden, proposes approximately 500 apartments. 399 Chestnut Hill Ave in Brighton proposes 82 apartments as well as hotel rooms. The Residences at Alewife is a 227 unit development in North Cambridge. Construction started in December for the Residences at 160 CambridgePark, and is set for 398 apartments on the 4-acre site. Construction has begun for the Atmark, at 70 Fawcett Street in Cambridge. The Residences at 399 Congress Street is a 22 story complex with 414 units that would also include as many as 60 innovation units. 37 North Beacon Street is a proposed 5 story complex with 41 units. Barry's Corner, at Western Avenue & North Harvard Street in Boston is a proposed 6-9 story development with 325 apartments. Pier 4 is a 21 story development that broke ground in November and is slated to have 369 units. Parcel 39A in the Charlestown Navy Yard proposes 54 units. The Chelsea Flats, located at 44 Gerrish Avenue in Chelsea, will feature 96 apartments. West Square, located at 320 D Street in South Boston is a 225 apartment development. The 200-unit 36 River development in Waltham broke ground and is located at 36 River Street. Columbia Point, located at 45 Morrisey Boulevard in Dorchester, proposes 278 units. Factory 63, a converted shoe factory in Fort Point, is proposed to be developed at 83 Melcher Street. Northpoint in Cambridge also has more units underway such as the 20 story, 355 unit tower that broke ground in May. The 14-story Lovejoy Wharf is slated to become approximately 100 apartments. 1047 Commonwealth Ave is proposing 220 single room occupancy units. Olmstead Place got city approval back in November for 196 apartments at 161 South Huntington Avenue. A mega development was proposed at Government Center which will include 771 units in a large 6 building development at 50 New Sudbury Street. Gatehouse 75 is a 99 unit complex at 75 West School Street in Boston. The Wyeth in Cambridge is a 63 unit development located at 120 Rindge Ave in Cambridge.
